Obtain information on the nature, duration and constraints of works in Westmount.
Ongoing City roadwork and construction projects on the territory of Westmount can be visualized on the map.
Starting on Tuesday, May 20, a road resurfacing project will take place on Sherbrooke Street West, from Grosvenor Avenue to the western limit of the City. An estimated 13 weeks are required to complete the project.
This project includes:
*These electrical infrastructure improvements are crucial to ensuring a safe and reliable power distribution network for residents and businesses. These upgrades will help prevent potential outages, address the City's growing energy demands, and replace outdated equipment to guarantee long-term service reliability and quality.
To minimise the impact on businesses and residents in the affected area, work will be carried out in phases over a 13-week period. Parking will be affected based on the specific nature of the work being performed.
Phase 1
Phase 2
Phase 3
Starting at the end of May, work is planned at Summit Lookout as part of the ongoing restoration of this site. Public access to the lookout will be restricted from the week of May 12. The work is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2025.
To maximise public access to the Lookout over the summer months, work will be carried out in phases. Fencing, shown in red in the images below, will be installed to limit public access to specific areas depending on the phase in progress.
Phase 1 of the work, planned from May to June, includes the complete closure of Summit Lookout.
During phase 2, scheduled to begin in July, a single area around the telecommunications mast will be restricted to the public. This closure will be maintained indefinitely.
Infrastructure work on Forden Ave. and Forden Crescent is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 9, weather permitting.
This project will be carried out by the City's contractor, Eurovia.
The initial phase of the project will focus on crucial sewer work and sewer lining. The subcontractors responsible for these works will operate on a four-day work schedule, from Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This schedule will be in effect for an approximate five-week period, specifically between the weeks of June 9 and July 7. Please note that no work is currently planned for Fridays during this initial period.
The City's Engineering Department will ensure that the work site is safely secured at the end of each workday.

The contractor must respect the limits set by applicable city regulation. Note that an increase in truck circulation is to be expected since access to the work site is located on Rue Sainte-Catherine, at the entrance of the parking lot south of 5000 Boulevard De Maisonneuve.
