Starting on Tuesday, May 20, a road resurfacing project will take place on Sherbrooke Street West, from Grosvenor Avenue to the western limit of the City. An estimated 13 weeks are required to complete the project.
This project includes:
*These electrical infrastructure improvements are crucial to ensuring a safe and reliable power distribution network for residents and businesses. These upgrades will help prevent potential outages, address the City's growing energy demands, and replace outdated equipment to guarantee long-term service reliability and quality.
To minimise the impact on businesses and residents in the affected area, work will be carried out in phases over a 13-week period. Parking will be affected based on the specific nature of the work being performed.

Phase 2
Phase 3
A full closure of northbound traffic at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Sherbrooke Street will be in effect from Monday, July 21 to Friday, August 1, inclusive. A detour will be established for northbound vehicles via Sainte-Catherine Street and Claremont Avenue, to help maintain smooth traffic flow in the area. Southbound traffic on Victoria Avenue, north of Sherbrooke Street, is already closed for the duration of the project. Sherbrooke Street will remain open in both directions (eastbound and westbound) throughout the work period.
Starting at the end of May, work is planned at Summit Lookout as part of the ongoing restoration of this site. Public access to the lookout will be restricted from the week of May 12. The work is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2025.
To maximise public access to the Lookout over the summer months, work will be carried out in phases. Fencing, shown in red in the images below, will be installed to limit public access to specific areas depending on the phase in progress.
Phase 1 of the work, planned from May to June, includes the complete closure of Summit Lookout.
During phase 2, scheduled in July, a single area around the telecommunications mast will be restricted to the public. This closure will be maintained indefinitely.
Infrastructure work on Forden Ave. and Forden Crescent is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 9.
This project will be carried out by the City's contractor, Eurovia.
The initial phase of the project will focus on crucial sewer work and sewer lining. The subcontractors responsible for these works will operate on a four-day work schedule, from Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This schedule will be in effect for an approximate five-week period, specifically between the weeks of June 9 and July 7. Please note that no work is currently planned for Fridays during this initial period.
The City's Engineering Department will ensure that the work site is safely secured at the end of each workday.
Starting Wednesday, July 9, the City of Westmount will carry out roadwork on Wood Avenue, between Sainte-Catherine Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard. The project includes:
As part of the sidewalk reconstruction, some work may encroach on privately installed landscaping or structures located within the public right-of-way (e.g., lawns, walkways, or driveways). These areas may be temporarily affected during the work. All impacted surfaces will be restored by the contractor to their original condition or better once the project is complete.
If your driveway or walkway is heated, or if you have an underground irrigation system, please notify us at assistance@westmount.org.
On-street parking will be temporarily prohibited within the construction zone. Parked vehicles obstruct the work and may cause delays—please follow all posted No Parking signs. Pedestrian access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
One driveway entrance at 1 Wood Avenue will remain accessible during the project. If access becomes temporarily unavailable, a special notice will be issued to inform affected residents.
All waste collection services (garbage, food waste, recycling, green waste, and bulky items) will continue as scheduled throughout the project. Please place bins at the curb before 6:00 a.m. on your regular collection day, and ensure they are clearly marked with your address.
Starting the week of August 4, a road resurfacing and sidewalk reconstruction project will take place on Claremont Avenue north of Lorraine Avenue, including a section of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Avenue connecting Claremont and Westmount avenues. An estimated 15 weeks are required to complete the project.
This road resurfacing and sidewalk reconstruction project includes two work areas.
The first work area is focused on the section of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Avenue connecting Claremont and Westmount avenues. Work in this area includes :
The second work area is focused on Claremont Avenue north of Lorraine Avenue. Work in this area includes:
The electrical infrastructure improvements listed above are crucial to ensuring a safe and reliable power distribution network for residents and businesses. These upgrades will help prevent potential outages, address the City's growing energy demands, and replace outdated equipment to guarantee long-term service reliability and quality.
The roads and sidewalks on Lorraine Avenue, as well as on the section of Claremont Avenue between Sherbrooke Street and Lorraine Avenue, will be addressed as part of a later project, which will include interventions on the water network.
The project will be carried out in multiple phases over a 15-week period. Parking will be affected based on the specific nature of work being performed at any given time.
This preliminary project schedule may be modified due to unfavourable weather conditions or other circumstances.

In order to offer users a more practical access, exo is making major improvements to Vendôme station.
The project implies completely rebuilding the north platform. In spite of this, the station will remain open and trains will circulate as usual.
While all measures will be taken to minimize the impact on the surrounding area, some construction-related disruptions are to be expected. These may include typical construction noise, light vibrations, and dust. Noise, dust, and vibration sensors will be installed at various locations near the worksite. The contractor must respect the limits set by applicable city regulation. Note that an increase in truck circulation is to be expected since access to the work site is located on Rue Sainte-Catherine, at the entrance of the parking lot south of 5000 Boulevard De Maisonneuve.

Starting the week of June 9, preparatory work and the start of rehabilitation work on water and sewer pipes will begin on Greene Avenue between Saint-Antoine and Sainte-Catherine streets.
The project consists of repairing and rebuilding a water main. It will also integrate Westmount Public Works operations. A secondary sewer will be repaired, water connections will be replaced, and utilities and roads will be rebuilt. The approximate duration of the work site is 6 months.
