Planning Programme

The Westmount Urban Plan establishes the main planning and development orientations of the City in accordance with the Regional Planning and Development Scheme according to the indications of the Act respecting land use planning and development (RLRQ, c. A-19.1). This Plan particularly establishes a common reference framework aligned with the local characteristics of the City, notably for heritage protection, real estate development, or sector requalification.

The City's urban planning regulations take these strategic orientations as a starting point for implementing the local vision of land use planning, both through the establishment of standards (e.g., zoning by-law) and through the establishment of a discretionary assessment regime (e.g., by-law on site planning and architectural integration).
