From May 25 to June 5, five volunteers travelled throughout the city in an electric truck to collect reusable household items directly from residents. Thanks to the participation of 71 households, 4.6 tonnes of furniture and other reusable items were diverted from landfill.
The collected items were then made available to the community during a community yard sale, where 96% of the donated goods found new owners. All remaining furniture and household items were donated to local community organizations: Collectif Bienvenue, The Salvation Army, Le Chaînon, and Renaissance.
The City extends its sincere thanks to all the residents, volunteers, and community partners whose participation helped make this initiative a success.
