Compost Pet Waste with Compost Montréal
An alternative way to dispose of pet waste is here! The City of Westmount now subsidizes subscriptions to Compost Montréal’s pet waste composting service.
Divert pet waste from landfill and choose to compost it instead with the services provided by Compost Montréal. Weekly doorstep collection is available as a subscription for both cat and dog waste. Compost Montréal provides everything needed to participate in the programme, including a collection container, compostable bin liners and waste bags.
This eco-friendly alternative reduces the amount of greenhouse gasses released into the atmosphere when pet waste is trashed, and it creates a new potential for pet waste by transforming it into clean, sustainable fertilizer. By joining the pet waste collection programme, residents are choosing to make a positive impact on a greener future.
The City of Westmount’s Green Grants programme now covers 50% of the subscription price, up to a maximum of $150 per calendar year. Residents who subscribe and meet the general conditions may request a refund for the current year by submitting the online form and providing supporting documents.
