Road Resurfacing and Sidewalk Reconstruction on Claremont Avenue Starting on August 4

Roadwork signs

Beginning the week of August 4, 2025, the City of Westmount will launch a resurfacing and sidewalk reconstruction project on Claremont Avenue, north of Avenue Lorraine, as well as on a section of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Avenue, between Claremont and Westmount Avenues.

The project is expected to take approximately 15 weeks and will include:

  • complete reconstruction of sidewalks;
  • upgrades to Hydro Westmount’s underground electrical infrastructure, including the reconstruction of a utility access vault at the intersection of Claremont and Windsor Avenues;
  • repairs to the road base and asphalt resurfacing;
  • reconstruction of the public lighting network.

Divided into three phases, this work is designed to ensure the long-term reliability of municipal infrastructure and to maintain safe and consistent service for residents and businesses in the area.

While traffic and parking will be affected, pedestrian access to residences, businesses, and institutions including Marianopolis College, will be maintained at all times.
