Bed bugs: Temporary closure of the Public Library

As part of the City’s follow-up to the March 6 intervention, a secondary inspection conducted today unfortunately revealed evidence of bed bugs in other areas of the Public library, beyond those initially found in the adult computer section.

The City has decided to temporarily close the Library, effective today.

This measure is intended to ensure a thorough treatment of the entire premises.

Inspections at Victoria Hall and the Heritage Greenhouses have revealed no evidence of bedbugs. Both buildings therefore remain open to the public. Further updates will follow.

Returns and Digital Services

  • Patrons are asked to keep their borrowed items for the time being.
  • The digital collection, including e-books and online databases, remains accessible at all times via the Library's website.

Information and Prevention

The City is aware of the inconvenience caused and thanks citizens for their patience while the necessary measures are deployed to ensure a healthy and welcoming environment at the Library.
