Bed bugs: Preventative intervention at the Library

The City wishes to inform library patrons that a targeted intervention took place following the detection of bed bugs in the computer lab on the afternoon of Friday, March 6. Immediately following the report by the Library staff, a professional exterminator was commissioned to treat the targeted areas and conduct a inspection of the building. The findings of this initial inspection are reassuring: no traces of bed bugs were found outside the computer section for adults . The situation appears to be contained to this specific area.

The following precautionary  measures have been taken:

  • Thorough Monitoring: A second follow-up inspection of the entire building is already scheduled for early next week.
  • The computer section for adults  remains closed to the public for until further notice.

With the exception of the computer section for adults , the Library remains open to the public until further notice. The City is monitoring the situation closely and is acting diligently to ensure a healthy environment for all citizens.
