In 2026, the City is participating in the Trash2Treasure programme, which aims to divert reusable items from landfills and redistribute them to the community and local organizations.
Residents may register to have their reusable household items, in good condition, collected from their homes. The collection will take place from May 25 to June 5 and will be carried out using electric trucks.
Collected items will then be sold at a yard sale held from May 27 to June 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Westmount Park between Maisonneuve and Lansdowne streets. Proceeds, as well as unsold items, will be donated to community organizations.
Accepted items include furniture, household goods, decorations, clothing, and other household items. Mattresses, sofas, appliances, and heavy furniture are not accepted. Everything is collected free of charge, by appointment, directly from your doorstep, using electric trucks to reduce CO₂ emissions.
Trash2Treasure is a programme by the non-profit organization Sollicité, with support from the Trottier Family Foundation.
