Snow Accumulation : November 16-17

Operations have been ongoing since November 16: applying abrasives to roads, clearing snow from sidewalks and clearing of any blocked public drains. Teams continue to address remaining fallen trees and branches from the November 11 snowfall.

Overview

A new layer of snow fell from November 16 to 17. Our teams are on the ground clearing snow and ensuring public safety on our territory.

Current Operations

  • Salt trucks have been in operation on our roads overnight. Operations continue in the daytime as needed to keep the network open.
  • City crews have been clearing snow on sidewalks, alleys, entrances to municipal buildings, public stairs and some park trails since the morning of November 17.
  • A specialised contractor is on site to clean up and collect fallen branches and trees.
    To report public trees or branches that pose a risk, please call 514 989-5311.

General Reminders

  • Priority areas for snow removal include fire roads, school zones, and commercial areas.
  • The City will not remind you to move your vehicle during snow removal. Pay close attention to signage.
