Launch of the Info-Neige App

Info-Neige logo

The City of Westmount is pleased to announce the launch of its Info-Neige app. This app will allow residents to track snow clearing operations directly from their phone or tablet.

Want to quickly check the snow removal status of your street or find out when you need to move your vehicle? Info-Neige provides all this information, making it easier to get around and plan your winter activities.

How It Works and Key Features

Mobile Application

Available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android), the Info-Neige mobile app will display planned snow clearance operations up to 12 hours in advance:

  • Push Notifications: Receive personalised alerts for the street segments you’ve added to your favourites
  • Direct access to regular updates provided by the City

Web Version

Accessible to all residents, the web version will display snow removal operations scheduled up to 12 hours in advance:

  • Real-time operation status, using a simple and clear legend:
no operation, snow-covered, planned, parking prohibited, operation completed
  • Affected street segments, updated live as work progresses

Please note: Street signage always takes priority. If there is a discrepancy between the information in the app and posted signage, residents must follow the signage on the street.

All data displayed in Info-Neige comes from a centralized snow-removal tracking system, ensuring accurate, reliable, and continuously updated information. To help residents navigate the tool, both a tutorial and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section will be available.

Download the app now and enable notifications to stay informed throughout the winter season!

Pilot Phase and Progressive Deployment

To ensure the long-term success and relevance of the application, the City has opted for a progressive implementation strategy by launching a pilot project for the first year. This approach makes it possible to test the system's robustness and data updates under real-world winter operation conditions, while gathering user feedback to identify areas for improvement. This initial phase will serve as the foundation for developing an adaptable solution, potentially shareable with other municipalities. It is important to note that the scope of this pilot version is reduced and does not currently include automated calling solutions, which will be integrated later during a more advanced deployment phase.
