Snowfall on November 10-11

Last update: November 12, 9 a.m.

Operations have been ongoing since the night of November 10: applying abrasives to roads, clearing snow from sidewalks, and clearing fallen trees and branches. Since November 11, teams have also been working to clear any blocked public drains.

Notice to residents: Please move any vehicles that are parked on the street to leave more space between your vehicle and the sidewalk. This will allow snowplows to clear the sidewalks effectively.

Overview

Heavier than expected snowfall occurred during the night of November 10 to 11, 2025. The forecasted rain and sleet turned into wet, heavy snow. Our teams are on the ground clearing snow and ensuring public safety on our territory. Particular attention is being paid to the risks posed by public trees and the proper functioning of our sewers.

Current Operations

  • Two salt trucks have been in operation on our roads since the night of November 10.
  • Seven snowplows have been deployed to clear all sidewalks, working by priority. Some sidewalks in construction zones cannot be plowed.
  • Park trails will be cleared minimally to avoid damage, as the pickets have not yet been placed.
  • A specialised contractor is on site to clean up and collect fallen branches and trees.
To report public trees or branches that pose a risk, please call 514 989-5311.

General Reminders

  • Priority areas for snow removal include fire roads, school zones, and commercial areas.
  • The City will not remind you to move your vehicle during snow removal. Pay close attention to signage.
