Update—Snow Accumulation: January 25-26

A snowy sidewalk

Update—January 29, 2026, at 2 p.m.: Following a pause to operations due to unforeseen circumstances on January 29, snow loading operations are planned to resume on January 30.

From the evening of January 25 to the afternoon of January 26, approximately 15 cm of snow has fallen across the territory of the City of Westmount.

Given the cold temperatures, teams have prioritised thoroughly clearing and securing the City's roads and sidewalks to ensure safe commuting. This work continues, as well as the spreading of abrasive materials to improve traction and ensure safety. Caution is advised when traveling.

A snow loading operation will begin at 4 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, January 28.

General Reminders

  • Priority areas for snow removal include fire roads, school zones, and commercial areas.
  • The City will not remind you to move your vehicle during snow removal. Pay close attention to signage.
  • Consult the Info-Neige app to quickly check the snow removal status of your street or find out when you need to move your vehicle. You can even opt-in to receive personalised alerts for the street segments you’ve added to your favorites!
