From May to August 2025, a road resurfacing project will take place on Sherbrooke Street West between Grosvenor Avenue and the western boundary of the City.
The project is scheduled to start on May 20 and last an estimated 13 weeks. The work will be carried out in phases to minimize the impact on traffic, businesses, and residents.
During the work, pedestrian access to homes and businesses will be maintained. Sections of on-street parking will be temporarily unavailable in the work area, and lane closures will be necessary at times during the project.
Phase 1 of the work, starting on May 20, will involve replacing Hydro Westmount's underground infrastructure between Grosvenor and Prince Albert Avenues, as well as rebuilding the sidewalks on the north side and localized sections of the south side of this area. During subsequent phases, other sections of sidewalk will be repaired, and the asphalt surface of the road will be repaved.
During the final phase, scheduled for August, night-time paving work (between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.) will be required to limit the impact on traffic and ensure the project's timely completion. This work may cause some noise pollution.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as the City undertakes these important and much-needed works.
