New Traffic Configurations on Argyle, Metcalfe, and Kensington Starting August 15

street sign indicating a one-way street

Portions of Argyle Ave., Metcalfe Ave., and Kensington Ave. are transitioning to new traffic configurations starting August 15 2026, as part of the City’s Safe Routes to School initiative to enhance safety around school zones.

The following directional changes will take effect as of Saturday, August 15:

  • Argyle Ave. (from Thornhill Ave. to Côte-Saint-Antoine Rd.): One-way going south
  • Kensington Ave. (from Côte-Saint-Antoine Rd. to Sherbrooke St. W.): One-way going south
  • Metcalfe Ave. (from Sherbrooke St. West to Côte-Saint-Antoine Rd.): One-way going north

Additional Traffic Calming and Safety Measures

Along with these one-way designations, drivers will notice additional traffic calming measures along these corridors.

Drivers navigating these streets are urged to pay attention to new directional signage and allow extra travel time as local road users adapt to the revised traffic patterns.
