Installation of Summer public places on Greene and De Maisonneuve

The installation of temporary public places on Greene Ave. (between Sherbrooke and Sainte-Catherine Streets) and De Maisonneuve Blvd. (between Atwater Ave.and Greene Ave.) will begin on Saturday, May 2, 2026. These installations are expected to remain in place until fall 2026.

Public Works crews will install street furniture and greenery planters to set up these seasonal spaces.

Impact on Traffic and Parking

During installation work, some disruptions are to be expected:

  • Temporary street closures: for safety reasons, very brief closures on Greene Ave. may be necessary when handling heavy equipment.
  • Reduced traffic flow: Greene Ave. will be reduced to a single lane of traffic during installation and for the duration of the summer installations.
  • Temporary parking restrictions: No-parking zones will be in effect starting the evening of May 1, particularly on the east side of Greene Avenue.
  • Parking relocation: Parking will be moved to the eastbound lane.

The City thanks residents, business owners, and road users for their understanding and cooperation during this installation period. These improvements help stimulate commercial sectors and provide welcoming spaces during the summer season.
