Closure of Lansdowne Avenue on November 14, 2025
Lansdowne Avenue between Sainte-Catherine Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard will be closed on Friday, November 14, 2025.
This closure is required for a complex logistical operation, involving the use of a crane, to replace two ice resurfacing machines (Zamboni) at the Westmount Recreation Centre.
Access to the underground ice rinks at the Westmount Recreation Centre requires heavy equipment to be brought onto Lansdowne Avenue. To allow the work to proceed, Lansdowne Avenue will be closed to traffic between Sainte-Catherine Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard from 6 a.m. on November 14. Notices have been delivered to addresses in the vicinity of the road closure.
Traffic and Parking
- Road closure: Lansdowne Avenue will be closed between Sainte-Catherine Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard.
- Local access: Access to buildings in the work area on Lansdowne Avenue will be maintained.
- Street parking: No street parking will be permitted in the work zone for the duration of the operation. Please move any vehicle parked on the street before 6 a.m. on November 14.
- Traffic management: Flag people will be on-site to direct traffic
Bike Lanes and Pedestrian Traffic
- Lansdowne bike lane: The bike lane on Lansdowne Avenue will be closed for the duration of the operation. Cyclists will be required to dismount their bicycle, and will be redirected to the west-side sidewalk on Lansdowne Avenue.
- De Maisonneuve bike lane: Intermittent traffic interruptions will affect the bike lane on De Maisonneuve Boulevard as required.
- Pedestrians: Pedestrian traffic redirected to the west-side sidewalk.
