New City Website to be Launched on April 23, 2025

Mockup of the City's new website on desktop and mobile screens

The new Westmount website marks a major step forward in the City's commitment to providing accessible, user-friendly online services and information to residents.

The City's new website will be launched on Wednesday, April 23. The primary objective of this project was to significantly improve information dissemination, ensuring that municipal information is easier to find and understand. This was achieved through a comprehensive redesign focused on several key areas, including:

  • Optimized Navigation: A simplified and intuitive navigation structure allows users to quickly locate the information they need.
  • Enhanced Mobile Experience: A responsive design ensures seamless access across all devices, from desktops to smartphones.
  • Increased User Satisfaction: A modern, aesthetically pleasing interface enhances the overall user experience.

Beyond the user experience, the City also prioritized the website's technical infrastructure, implementing strengthened security, facilitated content management, ensured site scalability, optimized SEO (improved search engine visibility ensures citizens can easily find information).

This ambitious project was a collaborative, cross-departmental effort within the City, and was realized in partnership with Blanko, a web design and creation agency with a proven track record of developing municipal websites.

Note: Due to the transition to the new site, some features and pages may experience temporary disruptions on April 23. This includes, but is not limited to, the overnight parking service and the sports and recreation reservation system. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks you for your patience during this transition.
