Mailing of 2026 Property Tax Bills

Property tax bills for 2026 will be mailed during the week of February 9. They are also already available through the Voilà! online property portal.

In 2026, you will receive four documents related to your tax bill:

  • the tax bill;
  • the payment coupons (three coupons on the same page);
  • your assessment notice (please note that the fees indicated on the assessment notice apply only if you wish to contest the assessment of your property);
  • the Mayor’s letter.

Property taxes may now be paid in three interest-free instalments. The payment deadlines are as follows:

  • The deadline for the first instalment is March 9, 2026.
  • The deadline for the second instalment is June 9, 2026.
  • The deadline for the third payment instalment is September 9, 2026.

Accepted Payment Methods

You may settle your tax account:

  • through your financial institution, online, by phone, or at a branch;
  • by mail by sending a check to the City of Westmount (TAXES), P.O. Box 334, SUCC. Westmount, QC, H3Z 2T5;
  • in person at Westmount City Hall, 4333 Sherbrooke Street West, by cheque, debit, or cash (cheques can be slid into the envelope slot at the entrance door);
  • by credit card or bank transfer on the ACCEO platform only (service fees from ACCEO Solutions apply).

Property Tax Rates 2026

Below are the municipal tax rates for 2026 per $100 of assessed value (as well as last year’s rates, for reference):

For 2026, the average single-family home value, according to the new valuation roll of the City of Montreal, is $2,705,159, resulting in a total property tax bill of $17,808 (including the special Infrastructure tax).

Penalties

An annual interest rate of 9% will be charged on the unpaid balance. In addition, a 0.5% monthly penalty on the outstanding principal will apply, up to a maximum of 5%, in addition to interest charges.

If you have not received your municipal tax bill, you must contact the Finance Department. Please note that failure to receive your municipal tax bill does not in any way exempt you from the obligation to pay your taxes according to the deadlines established by the City. The City of Westmount cannot be held responsible for delays or omissions in the delivery of mail, regardless of the method of delivery used.
