Trash2Treasure: Collection of Household Items in Good condition
In 2025, Westmount is participating in the Trash2Treasure programme, which aims to divert reusable goods from landfill by redistributing them to the community and charitable organizations!
Residents may register to have their reusable household items, in good condition, collected from their homes. Collected items will then be made available to the public in yard sale format, in exchange for monetary donations at people’s discretion. Yard sale days will take place on weekdays from May 22 to June 2 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Boulevard De Maisonneuve and Lansdowne Avenue entrance to Westmount Park. In the end, all donations and remaining items will be given to charity.
Accepted household items include furniture, housewares, decorations, clothing and more. Upholstered items such as mattresses and sofas, as well as heavy appliances and furniture, are not accepted. Everything is collected free of charge, by appointment, directly at your doorstep, and using electric trailer-bikes to limit CO2 emissions. Items will be collected from registered residents on weekdays from May 20 to June 2.
Trash2Treasure is a programme run by the NPO Sollicité with the support of the Fondation Familiale Trottier.
