Snow Accumulation: January 10-12

Approximately 10 cm of snow fell overnight from January 10 to 11, 2026. Public Works Department crews are currently at work to ensure safe travel and have started the 4th snow loading operation of the winter season on Monday, January 12, 2026, starting in commercial areas, school zones, and along fire routes.

Overview

Roadway and sidewalk clearing operations are currently underway. Snow loading operations will begin Monday, January 12.

Current Operations

  • Clearing of streets and sidewalks to maintain safe conditions for all users.
  • Snow loading will take place first in commercial areas, school zones, and along fire routes.
  • Operations will continue based on weather conditions and operational requirements.

Parking and Signage

  • The City will not contact residents to request that vehicles be moved prior to snow removal operations.
  • Residents are asked to pay close attention to temporary signage and move their vehicles as required before crews arrive.
  • Vehicles that interfere with snow loading operations may be towed.


General Reminders

  • Snow from private driveways and sidewalks may be added to existing snowbanks prior to snow loading, provided it does not obstruct sidewalks, streets, or public access points.

  • Fines may be issued to property owners or contractors who do not comply with applicable regulations.

  • On collection days, waste and recycling materials must be placed so as not to interfere with snow removal operations.
