Upcoming Changes to Permit Parking in 2025

Permit parking stickers will be replaced by a license plate reader system.

In 2025, the City will introduce a new parking permit system, eliminating the need for physical stickers. Building on the success of paid parking meter enforcement using handheld license plate readers since 2015, the same technology will now be used to manage resident parking permits.

Under the new system, residents will be able to purchase and manage their permits online, with parking rights automatically linked to their vehicle’s license plate number. As a result, residents will no longer need to replace stickers, wait for permits by mail, or visit the parking office in person.

Further details on the new system will be available in the coming months.
