The City of Westmount is undertaking an overhaul of its Urban Planning Programme and planning by-laws, a process that will establish a renewed vision for the planning and development of its territory through 2050.
This initiative marks the beginning of the overhaul of the Urban Planning Programme, the City's primary planning document that guides decisions related to land use and development. It will help shape the vitality of neighbourhoods and public spaces, improve mobility, protect heritage assets, and support the sustainable development of the territory. The process will also include an overhaul of planning by-laws, including zoning by-laws, to ensure they reflect the realities and challenges of today and tomorrow.
Carried out over a two-year period, the project will include several phases. Residents will be invited to learn about the process and contribute to the discussions that will help shape the review of the Urban Planning Programme and planning by-laws through activities that will be announced throughout the project.
