Ville de Montreal: Works on Rue Saint-Antoine and Rue Saint-Jacques

As part of the redevelopment project for Rue Saint-Antoine and Rue Saint-Jacques, the Ville de Montreal will carry out construction work starting on October 6, 2025, for an estimated duration of two weeks.
Rue Saint-Jacques will be completely closed, and Rue Saint-Antoine will be temporarily one-way eastbound.

Scope of Work:

  • Reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalks
  • Installation of concrete traffic islands
  • Electrical network upgrades

Traffic and Parking:

  • Rue Saint-Jacques: full closure between Avenues Brewster and Walker. A detour will be in place via RueSaint-Antoine and AvenueBrewster.
  • Rue Saint-Antoine: temporary one-way eastbound between RueRose-de-Lima and AvenueAtwater to maintain local access.
  • Avenues Greene and Walker: accessible via Rue Saint-Antoine. Local two-way traffic will be maintained on Greene between Saint-Antoine and Saint-Jacques.
  • Avenue Brewster and rue Bel-Air: accessible via Rose-de-Lima and Saint-Jacques. Avenue Brewster will be temporarily one-way northbound.
  • Avenue Marin: accessible via Saint-Antoine, Avenue Walker, and Rue Saint-Jacques.

Expected Impacts:

  • Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Work may also take place on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Parking prohibited in the work zone for the duration of the project.
  • Pedestrian access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • Garbage, recycling, and compost collection will continue as scheduled.
