Update: closures and detours on Route 136 from February 28 to March 3

Detour and roadwork signs

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility informs road users that, due to the reconstruction of the Saint-Urbain overpass, several closures and detours will be in place from Friday, February 28 to Monday, March 3.

The closure of the Saint-Laurent overpass above Route 136, scheduled for the night from Saturday to Sunday, has been postponed to a later date.

Route 136 (Ville-Marie and Viger Tunnels)
• Full closure westbound: between Rue Panet and the entrance from Rue Lucien-L’Allier, from Friday, February 28 at 11:00 p.m. until Monday, March 3 at 5:00 a.m.
• Full closure eastbound: between exit no. 4 − Pont Victoria/Boul. R.-Bourassa/Rue de la Montagne and the entrance from Rue Atateken, from Friday, February 28 at 11:30 p.m. until Monday, March 3 at 5:00 a.m.

On-ramps will be closed 30 to 60 minutes prior to the full closure of Route 136. Detour routes will be clearly marked with signage, and police officers will be present to help manage traffic flow through the detours.

Saint-Laurent Overpass
Cancel – Closure of the Saint-Laurent overpass between Avenue Viger and Rue Saint-Antoine, from Saturday, March 1 at 10:00 p.m. until Sunday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m., for finishing work.

These closures are necessary for the installation of the first section of the steel framework and to advance the bridge reconstruction.

Weather Conditions
Work may be postponed due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. It is recommended to check traffic conditions and adjust your travel plans by consulting Québec 511 before heading out.
