The nomination period for the general election in Westmount ended on Friday, October 3, at 4:30 p.m.
Voters will cast their ballots for all councillor positions not filled by acclamation (districts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8), as well as for the position of mayor.
Please note that Mr. Jeff J. Shamie has been elected by acclamation as councillor for District 3.
There will be three (3) voting days in the municipality:
Individuals who are unable to travel due to health reasons may request that a mobile voting team visit them. Eligible voters must make this request to the Returning Officer no later than October 17, 2025.
Due to the ongoing strike at Canada Post, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer will implement all necessary measures to ensure that voters receive their notice of entry on the electoral list. This notice, which will be sent to all addresses within the City, will indicate:
If the strike continues, municipal employees will carry out door-to-door distribution of reminder cards to all registered voters, starting on October 9.
If any of the information appearing on this notice is incomplete or incorrect, the voter must present themselves before the Revision Board to request, as applicable, a registration, a correction, or a removal. The revision will take place on October 16, 17, and 21. The Revision Board’s schedule is available on the City’s website
