Atwater Library: Free borrowing for Westmounters whilst the Public Library is closed

The Atwater Library

In a great display of community spirit, the Atwater Library and Computer Centre has stepped forward to support Westmount residents during the temporary closure of the City’s Public Library which was necessitated by the recent discovery of bed bugs in the facility.

To ensure our community continues to have access to library services, the Atwater Library is temporarily waiving its usual borrowing fees for all Westmount residents. The City of Westmount wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the Atwater Library leadership, staff and volunteers for their exceptional generosity.

‘‘We thank the Atwater Library for its kindness and its commitment to ensuring our residents remain connected to cultural resources during this time, while the Westmount Library undergoes necessary treatments to ensure a safe reopening.”
Gurveen, Chadah, Councillor for District 4 and Commissioner of the Library, Culture and Community Events

The Atwater Library offers an extensive collection of English-language materials for adults, including:

  • A wide selection of books and DVDs
  • Access to their online catalogue
  • Six-day-a-week access: The library is open Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays). Please consult atwaterlibrary.ca for specific daily hours.

To benefit from this offer, residents are invited to visit the Atwater at 1200 Atwater Avenue Library or contact them directly at 514 935-7344 for more information.
