2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montreal

Impact on Westmount

On 26 and 27 September, Atwater Avenue will be closed while the elite races take place. Security officers will be posted at key intersections to allow vehicles and pedestrians to cross when the route is clear. Access to nearby residential streets will be restricted to local traffic.

Traffic Disruptions: Plan your trips

To ensure as smooth as a commute as possible during this event, plan for major disruptions on your route now by consulting the dynamic maps available at montreal2026.org. Some major disruptions include:

• the closure of Avenue du Parc between Avenue Mont-Royal and Avenue des Pins for the duration of the Championships;
• the closure of the Bonaventure Expressway towards the city centre on September 19, 20, 21 and 22;
• the closure of Exit 7 on Route 136 eastbound from 6.30 am to 4.30 pm from September 19 to 22.

The official recommendation to make travelling easier during the Championships is to prioritise major public transport networks (metro, train and REM) and active transport (walking and cycling).
