2026 Earth Day Activities

In celebration of Earth Day 2026, the City is organising a number of activities to educate, raise awareness and take eco-friendly action.

These free activities are offered to residents by registration only. Space is limited! Book your place online on each event page by following the links below.

Friday, April 17

  • The Big Cleanup at Westmount Park
    1:30 to 3 p.m.— Meet in front of the main entrance to the Westmount Public Library
    Rain or shine, let’s get together to clean up our beautiful park in the lead up to summer!

Saturday, April 18

  • Workshop: Repairing clothing by hand (FULL)
    11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Victoria Hall
    Learn the essentials of garment care, basic hand-stitching techniques, and simple repairs that extend the life of your favourite pieces.

  • Earth Day Clothing Swap
    1 to 4 p.m. — Victoria Hall
    Upcycle your wardobe sustainably and for free! Bring up to 10 pre-loved items of clothing and swap with friends and neighbours.

  • Repair and Sewing Advice
    1:30 to 3:30 p.m. — Westmount Public Library
    Lleather craftswoman, costumier, and fashion designer Catalina Elliott will be on-site at the Clothing Swap event with sewing machines and hand-stitching tools to assess the repairability, durability, and quality of your clothing and shoes, and provide practical advice on possible repairs.
