Over the years, the key to the success of Westmount’s cultural, sports and recreation programmes has been the involvement of keen volunteers from the community.
Westmount is indeed fortunate to have a core group of residents who willingly give their time and expertise to help provide quality programmes and services. However, the demand is always there to recruit new volunteers.
Community Events Volunteers assist the City of Westmount’s Community Events Office with a variety of tasks during municipal events.
The volunteer will perform tasks such as:
Location: Most community events are held at Victoria Hall or in Westmount Park. However, volunteers may be assigned to various locations within the City of Westmount, such as Prince Albert Square, City Hall, Greene Avenue, etc.
Commitment and Hours: This opportunity is specifically to help during events (one offs or recurring). The Events Volunteers may be contacted for one or more specific or recurring events, depending on our events calendar and the availability of the volunteer.
Why become a Community Events Volunteer:
Would you like to get involved with the Gallery at Victoria Hall and participate in the selection of artists who will exhibit at the municipal gallery? The City of Westmount is always seeking jury members for the Art Gallery Selection Committee.
The Selection Committee is composed of three or four members of the jury and the Gallery Curator. Please note this citizen involvement opportunity is done on a voluntary basis and does not imply any monetary compensation.
This one (1) year mandate requires from jury members to study the admissible application files and to participate in a few meetings (1 to 3, videoconference or in person) during the selection process which takes place from April to June. Exceptionally, the members of the jury may be called upon to visit an artist’s studio in order to make the final selection.
Please note that you will only be contacted if you are offered a place on the committee for a given year.
Artisans Westmount is a juried craft fair that showcases high-quality, handmade items by talented artisans. The City of Westmount is seeking volunteers with an eye for aesthetics and quality craftsmanship to join the selection committee.
The Selection Committee is composed of three or four members of the public and is overseen by the event coordinator. Please note this citizen involvement opportunity is done on a voluntary basis and does not imply any monetary compensation.
This 1-year mandate requires from jury members to study the admissible application files and to participate in an online selection process which takes place from April to May.
Please note that you will only be contacted if you are offered a place on the committee for a given year.
