On March 31, 2026, a special ceremony was hosted at Westmount City Hall to unveil the official portrait of former Mayor Christina M. Smith.
Friends, family, current and former Council members, and administrative staff were in attendance to celebrate the former Mayor's legacy. For 12 years, Christina M. Smith served the Westmount community as an elected official. She served as Mayor for eight years, and distinguished herself by her stewardship of Westmount’s heritage. She will also be remembered for her steady and compassionate guidance through the pandemic.
The commissioned painting was created by award-winning portrait artist Alex Kasyan, a Montreal native who studied in Westmount and has nearly 20 years of fine art production to his name.
The portrait will join those of previous mayors, which hang in City Hall’s Council Chamber.
