The Gallery at Victoria Hall

Located next to the Westmount Conservatory, the Gallery at Victoria Hall offers a space to showcase Westmount artists and presents many art exhibitions annually, including a community youth art project and special exhibitions.

Selection Process

Admissible proposals are evaluated by the Gallery Selection Committee. A studio visit may be requested during the selection process. Selected artists will be offered a place in a solo, duo, trio or group exhibition at the discretion of the Committee. Please note that no evaluation of the artwork will be provided. The Committee is mindful of presenting a variety of artistic practices for a given year. The Gallery Selection Committee’s decisions are final.

Admissibility Criteria

• The applicant must be a Westmount resident.
• The applicant must not have been part of a solo, duo or trio exhibition at the Gallery in the last 5 years. This criteria does not apply to artists who participated in a group exhibition (4 artists or more).
• Feasibility and autonomy for the Gallery space and available equipment

Selection Criteria

• Artistic quality (50%)
• Research, originality and relevance (25%)
• Alignment of the style for the Gallery’s space and community-oriented mandate (25%)

How to Apply

Please complete the online application form available below.

Proposals must include:

• 10 high resolution images of recent works
• A descriptive list including the titles and details for each of the submitted works
• A brief curriculum vitae
• An artist’s statement

N.B.: Artists that have already participated in an exhibition (i.e., solo, duo or trio) in the Gallery at Victoria Hall are not eligible to resubmit for a minimum of 5 years.
