About the Position

Work involves helping and providing general assistance to lineman-splicer, related to the operational activities of open circuit work.

This position constitutes a learning period for the installer-splicer trade, and a period of familiarization with the electrical distribution network. He/She is responsible for loading and unloading the materials required for the work to be carried out by the lineman-splicer, he will also be required to drive heavy trucks, to operate a cable pulling truck and an aerial bucket truck, and to drive trucks with trailers used to transport poles and cables. The incumbent must prepare cables and electrical hardware assemblies on the ground for installation on poles, and prepare accessories and hardware used for splices in manholes.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Education, Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma from linesman school;
• Valid Class 3 driver’s licence;
• Have 800-hours of basic experience on an electrical distribution network that familiarizes the candidate with this field.

Essential Knowledge

• French and English, written and spoken;
• Electrical distribution network, overhead and underground.

• To perform various works on an electrical network;
• To work as a team;
• To respect safety standards in force.
