Opening of Belvedere Road Garden Waste Depot

The Belvedere Road garden waste depot will open on Monday, April 20.

It will be open Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. for contractors with a City permit, and residents with proof of residency. Yard waste can also be taken to an Ecocentre, or kept on your property (not streetside) until door-to-door collection returns.

ACCEPTED MATERIALS:

  • Residue from the spring garden clean-up and other landscaping activities
  • Residue from de-thatching your lawn
  • Residue from your vegetable garden or fruit trees
  • Small branches up to 5 cm in diameter, not exceeding 1.2 metres in length
  • Weeds and grass trimmings

REFUSED MATERIALS:

  • Tree logs or branches larger than 5 cm diameter and longer than 1.2 metres
  • branches tied with plastic or metal rope
  • residues in plastic bags
  • soil, rocks and pebbles

Please note that yard waste contaminated with any type of refused waste will be refused in its entirety.

A reminder that it is also strictly prohibitedto dispose of green waste, or any other type of waste, in public garbage cans or on public spaces (streets, alleys, sidewalks, parks, green spaces, etc.) under penalty of fines. Surveillance and ticketing have been increased in order to fight illegal dumping.

The City reserves the right to deny access to the Belvedere depot to any contractor not complying with the above guidelines or any other municipal by-law.
