Des mots de tous les jours by artist Louise Campion
The Gallery at Victoria Hall is pleased to present the exhibition Des mots de tous les jours by Louise Campion.
Louise Campion is an artist and writer working across painting, drawing, writing, and paper-making. Her practice explores what it means to continue creating, feeling, and connecting within a context of social violence, ecological crisis, and late-stage capitalism. Through material understanding, slowness, and attentive observation, she investigates questions of emotional survival, care, resilience, and resistance.
Louise Campion’s ongoing drawing series The human head is really heavy offers an intimate space where vulnerability and care take centre stage. Drawing from personal connections and attentive freedom, she captures moments of comfort and consolation: faces of friends, places that soothe, and fragments of everyday life.
