Meet Antoine, the City of Westmount’s virtual assistant. He's here to help you find what you need, when you need it! 

Why use Antoine?

Accessible from the chat icon at the bottom right of every page, Antoine offers a simpler way to navigate municipal information and services:

Whether you’re looking for collection schedules, permit information, recreation programmes, or general information, Antoine is ready to assist. Our virtual assistant is trained exclusively on the City of Westmount's official website, meaning that all of its answers come directly from the City.

Get Started Using Antoine

  1. Click the chat icon in the bottom right corner of any page on the City's website.
  2. Type your question in plain language, for example: “When is garbage pickup?” or “How do I get a parking permit?”
  3. Follow the suggestions provided, including links to relevant pages, and ask follow-up questions as needed.
  4. If Antoine is unable to fully answer your query, or if you need more information, Westmount Assistance is available to help during business hours.

For best results when chatting with Antoine, be specific in your questions and ask one question at a time. If the results you receive aren't what you were looking for, try rephrasing your request.

Good to Know

The technology behind Antoine is the artificial intelligence language learning model ChatGPT. It is normal that the same question asked twice may generate different results: Antoine will reformulate an answer, just as someone would in normal conversation, while keeping the important concepts of an answer unchanged.

Your safety is always our priority. Antoine automatically filters personal identifying information, should you accidentally provide it. Information such as your name, postal code, or email address is automatically redacted and removed. Antoine requires your explicit consent regarding the privacy policy before beginning a chat. Virtual assistant tools can sometimes make mistakes in the form of inaccurate or incomplete answers. The City encourages users to validate all information and to contact the City directly for any question requiring an exact or official response. The City disclaims all liability for any errors or omissions in the responses provided by the conversational agent and for any actions taken based on those responses.

Conversations with Antoine are automatically stored for 30 days. These may be periodically reviewed by City employees in order to improve upon the answers provided and the information available on the website.

Why a raven?

Antoine takes the form of a raven, a symbol deeply rooted in Westmount’s history. One of Westmount's original names was the Village of Côte St. Antoine. In the municipal shield, a raven appears in reference to the story of Saint Anthony, a hermit sustained by bread brought by ravens. This imagery symbolizes provision, care, and guidance. More broadly, ravens are associated with intelligence, insight, adaptability, and awareness. These qualities reflect Antoine’s role as a helpful and reliable guide on the City’s website.
