Westmount municipal yards is closed as of March 18 due to Turcot Project

As part of the Turcot Project, the MTQ will reconstruct the retaining wall between route 136 and Westmount municipal yards beginning March 2019. To carry out this work, the MTQ must occupy a large portion of the space. For safety reasons, access to the yards will not be possible for residents and private contractors.

The work will have a very significant impact on the daily operations of the City and will introduce additional heavy vehicles, equipment, and vehicular traffic within the yards.

Consequently, all disposal sites within the yards will be closed and entirely inaccessible as of March 18, 2019 for an undetermined period.

Residents and private contractors are advised to use Montreal’s écocentres.

Écocentres are sites for the reuse and recovery of residual materials. They are available to all residents of the Montréal agglomeration. They accept, among other things, construction and renovation waste, household hazardous waste and items that can be reused. Écocentres thus make it possible to divert a significant amount of residual waste from landfill, such as:
