Ville de Montréal: Full Closure of Route 136, Between the Turcot Interchange and Downtown, During the Weekend of December 13
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility informs road users that Route 136 will be completely closed in both directions, between the Turcot Interchange and downtown, during the weekend of December 13. This closure is necessary to allow for the demolition of a section of the Saint-Urbain overpass above Route 136, as well as the reopening of Exit No. 3—Montreal Downtown/Rue Guy.
Traffic Disruptions and Management
Route 136 Eastbound
- Full closure at the Turcot Interchange, from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
- Full closure between Exit No. 4—A-10 / R-112 / Victoria Bridge / Blvd. R.-Bourassa / Rue de la Montagne and Rue Atateken, from Friday at 11:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
- Full closure between the Turcot Interchange and Rue Atateken, as well as the reserved lane of Highway 20 eastbound, from Saturday at 11:59 p.m. to Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
- Traffic will be diverted onto Rue Saint-Jacques and Rue Saint-Antoine.
- Note: In case of adverse weather conditions, this closure may be postponed to Sunday night into Monday morning, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Route 136 Westbound
- Full closure between Rue Panet and the entrance from Rue Lucien-L’Allier, from Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
- Traffic will be diverted onto Avenue Viger and Rue Saint-Antoine.
Access ramps will be closed 30 to 60 minutes prior to the full closure of Route 136. Detour routes will be clearly indicated by temporary signage. A significant police presence will be deployed to help facilitate traffic on the detour routes. The Ministry advises road users to allow extra time if travelling in the downtown area.
Closures may be delayed due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. Before heading out, it is strongly recommended to consult Québec 511 for updated information and to plan your route accordingly.
