Last bulky items collection on Wednesday, October 2 – by registration only
Bulky items collection takes place once a month, at the beginning of the month, from May to October. This year, collection is by registration only. The next bulky item collection date is Wednesday, October 2.
How do I register?
Submit the registration form for bulky items collection on the Citizen Portal. Registrations are accepted until noon the day before the collection date. For this collect, registration will close at noon on Tuesday, October 1.
Where do I place bulky items for collection?
Bulky items must be placed street side (not in the lane) by 7 a.m. on the collection day.
Which items are accepted for bulky items collection?
Bulky items collection aims to divert from the landfill items that could be recycled or revalued. Accepted items include:
- Wooden items: tables, chairs (without fabric), furniture, pallets, boards, doors, etc.
- Ceramic items: toilet, bath, sink
- Refrigeration appliances: fridge, freezer, portable or window air conditioner, wine cellar, dehumidifier, water cooler
What do I do with refused bulky items?
Use the Ça va où? tool by Recyc-Québec to find out how to dispose of your items. Here are some common examples:
- Upholstered items (mattress, sofa, box springs, etc.) and plastic items (waste bin, toy, chair, etc.) can be placed with your garbage by 7 a.m. on collection day.
- Contact a scrap metal dealer to dispose of your metal items (oven, dishwasher, BBQ, etc.) or bring them to an Ecocentre (the closest to Westmount is located in LaSalle or Côte-Des-Neiges).
