Somerville Tot Lot now open

Westmount Mayor Christina M. Smith reopened the Somerville Tot Lot on April 12th in the company of City Councillors Anitra Bostock and Mary Gallery, as well as several delighted families. This small green space dedicated to toddlers underwent significant work in 2021 and 2022, including new landscaping with better drainage, the replacement of the play structures and the addition of benches and a picnic table.

The new wooden play structures feature ADA (American Disability Act) compliant swings, easily accessible activities and an engineered wood play surface that reduces the risk of injuries from falls. New shrubs and plants have been added and more will follow. In the meantime, young neighbourhood families can enjoy the space immediately.
