Road Safety: obey the signage

According to a report by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), the annual number of driver offenses related to non-compliance with pedestrian and cyclist priority at intersections quadrupled between 2005 and 2014.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians: road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

The City of Westmount has installed the traffic signs below at certain intersections to remind drivers:

• to completely halt their vehicle at the stop line or face a fine
• to completely halt their vehicle at the stop line and give way to pedestrians or face a fine.
