Resumption of services for landscaping contractors

As per the directives of the Government of Quebec, certain landscaping and maintenance activities may resume on the territory of Westmount as of April 15, under certain conditions.

Preventive measures and physical distancing established by CNESST
will have to be put in place by contractors to protect employees and customers from any possible contamination with COVID-19. To report a hazardous situation or behaviour, please contact CNESST at 1 844 838-0808.

Landscaping maintenance work (site clean-up, removal of winter plant protections, etc.): those works do not require a permit and can resume while respecting the CNESST directives.

Landscaping projects (paving, fences, retaining walls, etc.): those works require a permit. Only projects for which a permit has already been issued by the City of Westmount will be allowed to resume, while respecting the CNESST directives.

No new permits will be issued as long as the main activities of the Urban Planning Department are suspended (with the exception of emergency work permits).

*Note to Landscaping Contractors

  • Until further notice, the Urban Planning Department is not in a position to issue new annual licenses to landscaping contractors. However, they may still undertake maintenance work and apply for a license retroactively for the current period.
  • The Belvedere Depot will be open from Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, starting April 15. Only the green waste will be accepted.
