City’s Clerk Office
Westmount’s City Clerk’s Office assists Council, its Committees, the Director General and other departments in the performance of activities that are subject to laws or regulations. The department also oversees the liaison with Ville de Montréal’s municipal court.
In this role, the City Clerk is responsible for public notices, calls for tenders, Council minutes and agendas and claims, as well as all municipal by-laws and resolutions. Many of these documents are available through our Web site by clicking the links on the right.
The City Clerk is also in charge of enforcing the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information within the municipal administration. The City Clerk is also assigned many other statutory duties as a public official, including acting as the returning officer for municipal elections and referendums.
