Reminder: New company for garbage and compost collection since May 2, 2019

The City would like to remind you that Derichebourg is the subcontractor responsible for the collection of household waste and food waste on the City’s territory as of Thursday, May 2, 2019. Garbage and compost collection days remained the same. Garbage and compost collection is done as follow:

• once a week for residential, multi-family dwellings of 8 units and under and multi-family dwellings of 9 units or more that are part of the composting program;
• twice a week for businesses, institutions and multi-family dwellings of 9 units and over that are not part of the composting program.

It is important that garbage and food waste be placed for collection in the following interval: between 8 p.m. the day before the collection days, and 7 a.m. on the collection days.

The City of Westmount would also like to remind you that it is prohibited to bring or place waste on public property, including in public garbage cans. Fines will be applied.
