On Wednesday, January 7, 2021, the Premier of Quebec, Mr François Legault, accompanied by the Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, and Quebec’s National Director of Public Health, Dr Horacio Arruda, announced the implementation of additional measures to break the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the safety of Quebecers, under the recommendation of public health experts.
These new measures will come into effect this Saturday, January 9 and will be applicable for four weeks, until February 8.
Please note that these announced measures will impact the activities and services offered by the City of Westmount. Therefore,
- Indoor activities at the Westmount Recreation Centre are cancelled.
- Outdoor recreational activities, such as outdoor skating rinks and toboggan slides, will close at 7:30 p.m.
- Only individual outdoor activities are permitted, i.e. free skating, and toboggan runs.
- Hockey games or team activities are NOT PERMITTED on outdoor rinks or in parks.
Please understand that these measures are in place to help curb the growing number of infections across the province, protect our ageing population and ease the strain on our health care system.
