Preventative Measures: Closure of Municipal Buildings
In accordance with La Direction de la santé publique recommendations, the City of Westmount is informing residents that due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the Westmount Public Library, Victoria Hall and Westmount Recreation Centre will be closed as of Friday, March 13, 2020 to limit the risk of contagion. Activities, events and public presentations will be postponed or in some cases cancelled until further notice.
Please note : As a preventive measure, the comfort stations in Westmount’s public parks are also closed for an undetermined period.
“We are closely following the COVID-19 situation as per recommendations from La Direction de la santé publique and its partners. Westmount’s priority is limiting the risks of propagation.”, mentioned Mayor Christina M. Smith.
Please practice the recommended prevention measures:
- Wash hands frequently with warm running water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Observe good hygiene when coughing or sneezing and cover your mouth and nose with your arm to reduce the spread of germs.
- If you use a tissue, dispose of it as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards.
