Notice of railway work CP – as of October 10, 2017
Beginning October 10, CP will be installing new ties as part of its tie replacement program on the Westmount subdivision, starting at mile post 0 and ending at mile post 4.6 (Lucien L’Allier station to Montreal West station).
This work could impact residents in the municipalities and boroughs of Montreal (Ville-Marie), Westmount, Cote-Des-Neiges / Notre-Dame-De-Grace and Montreal West. Track maintenance is an integral part of CP’s safety program with investments into our infrastructure to ensure trains continue to operate safely through communities.
Expected Duration: Starting October 10 and extending up to a maximum of three weeks, crews will be removing and replacing rail ties within this corridor. The work will be done during weeknights, between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. People should expect to see or hear heavy machinery noise, rail ties, banging, idling trucks waiting to proceed, dust, voices, and reversing trucks.
