March 11, 2021 – National day of remembrance for victims of COVID‑19

Today, the City of Westmount and all of Québec pay tribute to those we have lost to COVID-19. March 11 has been declared a National day of remembrance for victims of COVID-19 and at 1 p.m., the entire population of Québec will be asked to observe a minute of silence as our flags fly at half-mast.

Everyone around the world has been affected in some way by this unforgiving pandemic. Today is an opportunity for us to take time to remember and honour the family members, colleagues, friends, and neighbours that have been taken away from us.

Let us also continue to recognize and support our frontline workers — the daily heroes that fight and care for us, as we maintain our vigilance in protecting each other. Brighter days are before us.
