Garbage cans replacement – 2nd phase of the project completed

The Westmount Public Works Department is pleased to announce the completion of the second phase of its public waste cans replacement project. The first phase consisted of replacing the garbage bins on commercial streets, and the second phase of replacing those on parks and non-commercial streets. In total, 190 baskets were replaced with new single (garbage) and double (garbage and recycling) units.

The City aims in keeping Westmount clean and providing public waste receptacles not only for garbage residue, but also for recyclable items. The City asks that residents carefully look and read the instructions on the baskets to properly dispose of their waste (recyclable or not) in the appropriate receptacle, and to refrain from leaving waste on top of or around the bins. The City would also like to remind residents that it is forbidden to put private waste (garbage, recycling, green waste, etc.) in the public bins.

Thank you for your collaboration in keeping Westmount clean!
