Anti-theft bicycle engraving clinics in Westmount Park
At the gazebo next to the bike path
As part of the SPVM’s projet NUMÉRO, officers from Neighbourhood Station 12 invite you to have your bicycle engraved for free. A deterrent sticker will also be placed on the bike. The clinics take place in Westmount Park on the following dates, rain or shine (with the exception of heavy downpours):
- Thursdays, June 6, 13 & 27 (no clinic on June 20)
- Thursdays, July 4, 11, 18 & 25
- Thursday, August 1st
All sessions take place between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Please note: carbon fibre bike frames will not be engraved, as it risks compromising the structure.
Engraving can help reduce bicycle theft and improve the chances of finding it again if it goes missing, thanks to an identification document. The personal ID number engraved on the bike is also registered in the SPVM database, making it easier for police officers to find the owner, and making it more difficult to resell the bike if stolen.
