Flags at half-mast in honour of firefighter Pierre Lacroix
The flags in front of Westmount City Hall and the Westmount Public Library have been at half-mast since Thursday, October 21, and will remain at half-mast until Monday, November 1, to pay tribute to Pierre Lacroix, a firefighter at Fire Station 64 of the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (SIM), who died on October 18 while rescuing a boat in distress in the Lachine Rapids.
A wake will be held on Thursday, October 28, and an official funeral service and recognition ceremony will be held on Friday, October 29. For more details, please visit the SIM website.
